A Sudanese wins first prize in a poetry competition in Doha – Kush News

The Sudanese poet Abdul Hamid Hassan Abdullah won first place in the Katara Prize for the Poet of the Messenger, may God bless him and grant him peace, in its sixth edition 2023 AD.

The closing ceremony of the award was held at the Public Foundation for the Cultural Village “Katara” in the Qatari capital, Doha, yesterday, in the presence of high-ranking officials. Hamad bin Abdulaziz Al-Kuwari and a number of ambassadors accredited to the State of Qatar.

According to (SUNA), the Sudanese poet Abdel-Hamid Hassan Abdullah won the first place for his poem “A Travel to the Place of Praise” in the category of eloquent poetry, while the Saudi poet Haider Al-Abdullah won the second place, and the Mauritanian poet Salah El-Din El-Kho won the third prize.

The awards were presented by the Director General of the Cultural Village “Katara”, Dr. Khaled Al-Sulaiti, and crowning the three winners of the competition.

It is noteworthy that this session is held under the slogan “Poetry Beautified by the Goodness of Human Beings” and with the participation of (861) contestants around the world.
