The Minerals Prosecution office in Khartoum began investigating a Russian suspect in the smuggling of about 7 kilograms of gold.
The authorities arrested the Russian suspect in the River Nile state while he was trying to smuggle the amount of gold last week, and criminal reports were written against him, and they subsequently transferred him to the capital, Khartoum, to complete the procedures based on the decisions of the Public Prosecutor.
Sources in the prosecution confirmed, according to (Sudan Tribune), on Tuesday, that the investigation had officially begun with the arrested Russian suspect, who claims (Sergio), under Article (57a) (sabotaging the national economy) of the Sudanese Criminal Code and Article (32) of the Mineral Resources Development Law of 2015.
