The Sudanese Congress Party issued a press circular regarding the publication of Sudanese Congress Party member Mohamed Hassan Arabi on his personal Facebook page, photos of him, along with former party leader Ibrahim Al-Sheikh, with Lieutenant-General Yasser Al-Atta, member of the Sovereign Council, on “Tuesday.”

Arabi explained, according to The Next Day newspaper, that the visit is of a social nature to former party leader Ibrahim Al-Sheikh at his residence in Cairo, after he underwent surgery.

While the Sudanese Congress Party clarified that publishing these photos was an individual act for which the author apologized and did not express the party, and was inconsistent with its position against the authority of the October 25 coup, and announced that the party’s relevant institutions would be subject to investigation and accountability.
