Sudan International organizes a conference to discuss climate change in Sudan and Africa

The International University of Sudan, in partnership with the Association of African Universities, UNESCO and the World Assembly for Sustainable Development, will organize on the 27th of this September in the conference hall of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, an international conference to discuss climate change issues in Sudan and Africa through the sustainable development goals.

According to (SUNA), Dr. Magda Mustafa Sadiq, Head of the Economics Department at Sudan International University, said that the conference will discuss the role that higher education institutions and scientific research centers should play in defining ways to mitigate the effects that cause climate changes and the expected social transformations.

The conference also presents all national and global legal efforts and strategies related to mitigation and adaptation.
The conference will be attended by national and foreign scientists in various disciplines related to climate change.
The conference consists of four different themes, where the first axis deals with the phenomenon, its causes and effects.

The second axis deals with the impact on the economy, public health, forests, education and dental health. While the third axis focuses on national and global efforts related to climate change.
As for the fourth axis, it focuses on the role of higher education and scientific research in mitigating and adapting to climate change.
The conference is expected to host more than 400 listeners from various climate-related disciplines.
