The conclusion of the meeting of the Security and Defense Council in Sudan on developments on the Chad border and upcoming decisions
The Security and Defense Committee held an emergency joint meeting between Khartoum and El Geneina via Zoom technology, headed by Lieutenant-General Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan Abdel-Rahman, Chairman of the Sovereignty Council, Supreme Commander of the People’s Armed Forces, and his deputy, Lieutenant-General Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, on Friday evening, in light of the security developments that occurred yesterday evening on the border with Chad, which 18 civilians were killed by Chadian infiltrators.
Police Major General Ibrahim Khareef, Director of West Darfur State Police, Rapporteur of the State Security Committee in (SUNA), said that the joint meeting between the State Security Committee and the Security and Defense Council, after studying the security situation, agreed on a number of recommendations and decisions.
He stressed that the security situation at the scene is stable and calm, and that the joint forces are there to protect the borders.
He pointed out that the meeting discussed the repercussions of the unfortunate events in Sirba locality, which were carried out by a number of Chadian perpetrators, who attacked the shepherds, killing eighteen citizens and wounding seventeen others. To protect the country’s borders and its citizens.
