A prominent leader in the Freedom and Change Coalition – the Central Council said that the expected constitutional declaration gave the resistance committees a third of the 150 seats in the Legislative Council, and also talked about reducing ministries.

The coalition decided to present the constitutional declaration to the political forces after it was presented at a workshop this week.

The leader of Freedom and Change, Babiker Faisal, said, according to (Sudan Tribune) on Friday that the coalition proposed in the constitutional declaration that members of Parliament be (150) deputies, with one third of its seats allocated to the resistance committees, and he indicated that the rest of the seats in the Legislative Council will be distributed between Freedom and Change, political parties and armed movements. and civil forces.

For his part, the leader of Freedom and Change, Adel Khalafallah, revealed that the constitutional declaration included a proposal to reduce the number of ministries in the new government, given the economic conditions the country is going through.

Khalafallah said that the constitutional arrangements focused on granting powers to institutions and not individuals, as power is granted to the Council of Ministers and not to the Prime Minister, as well as to the Sovereignty Council – if it is formed – and not to its President, and added: The previous experience in granting powers to Prime Minister Abdullah Hamdok and the Chairman of the Sovereign Council, Lieutenant-General The corner of Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan made them take unilateral decisions without consulting other parties.
