According to Al-Arabiya and Al-Hadath sources, the demonstrators tried to head to the Republican Palace, while neighborhoods and streets of the capital witnessed closures.

“I ask the authorities to conduct an independent, transparent, thorough and impartial investigation into the security forces’ response, in line with applicable international standards,” said the High Commissioner for Human Rights, Michelle Bachelet, in a statement, stressing that “victims, survivors and their families have the right to know the truth, achieve justice and obtain compensation.” “.

Thousands of people took to the streets in Khartoum on Friday, a day after 9 people were killed in the demonstrations the previous day. The Sudanese police fired tear gas to disperse demonstrators who tried to reach the presidential palace.
