“The Authority”: No increase in water tariffs in Khartoum

The Khartoum State Water Authority confirmed that the water tariff in force since last April, has not undergone any new increases.

The General Director of the authority, engineer and consultant, Muhammad Ali Al-Ajab, said in a press circular, according to Al-Sayha newspaper, that the General Sales Department had begun to reclassify subscribers after it was ascertained that there was a need for this classification, noting that the authority classified its subscribers into four categories, the third with (400). EGP, for ordinary homes, the second category, with (1000) for homes with a siphon, and the first for multi-storey homes, which are charged with (2000), and the first class for large homes or villas, and they are charged with (8000) EGP, and he said: The water tariff increase is approved by the state government and is not approved by the authority alone.
