Communist: Volcker’s initiative will face stiff opposition
The leader of the Sudanese Communist Party, Kamal Karar, confirmed that the call of the UN envoy, Head of the (UNITAMS) mission in Sudan, Volker Peretz, for a dialogue to solve the political crisis will face harsh opposition from three main sections of the country, beside the Communist Party.
Karrar said, according to Al-Sayha newspaper, that these sections are the political forces supporting the coup and are like a political incubator, along with forces that want to go back to before October 25, in addition to forces in the street that have four no’s: “the gathering of professionals, the forces of freedom and change and the resistance committees” and their desire to complete the revolution. To the end, he added that the fourth force is the Communist Party, which requires international mediation to be one hundred percent civil. Karrar considered this group the most present in the street and a popular force, and stressed that this group will triumph as it defeated the governments of Bashir, Abboud and Nimeiri.
